Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest and second largest engineering disciplines. It applies ethics of mechanics and energy to design devices and machines. Mechanical Engineers are involved in the operation, design of structures and maintenance of mechanical systems.
Mechanical Engineers design airplanes, automobiles, trains, and trucks for transportation, interplanetary space vehicles, food production tractors, fax machines, mechanical pencils, copying machines, and staplers used in office, and milling machines, grinders, lathes, and drill presses used in the manufacture of goods. They can also operate and design power plants and are concerned with the conversion of heat energy to mechanical energy, the economical combustion of fuels and even the use of mechanical energy to do useful work.
10+2 is must with Science subjects like Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology with minimum of 50% or equivalent to CGPA.
It is mandatory for IITs to get qualified in JEE.
- There are huge job opportunities in Oil, Gas, Automobiles, Aircraft Industries, Transport, Petroleum, Railways and more in both India and Abroad.
- Mechanical Engineers cover the aspects like testing and design among others. The job demands planning and supervision of live projects related to nuclear stations, thermal power plants, generation of electricity, and more.
- The appearing fields in this area include automobiles, mechanobiology, renewable energy, quality control, industrial Automation. These will increase the manpower in the work profile of mechanical engineers and even it will provide employment opportunities.
