Marine Engineering is the branch of science that deals with the design, development, production and maintenance of the equipments used at sea and on board sea vessels like boats, ships etc. It is quite a vast field and it also has many sister arenas like naval architecture and nautical science. Marine engineers have the entire responsibility of the ship’s technical management.
They are responsible for selecting the ship’s machinery such as gas turbines, steam turbines, diesel engines and for the design of mechanical, electrical, fluid and control systems throughout the vessel.
The candidate must have passed the higher secondary school certificate (10+2) examination with science subject such as Biology, Maths and Chemistry.
