Masters in Public Health is a postgraduate course. It is a two years course and the syllabus is divided into four semesters. It is a branch of medicine concerned with the control and prevention of disability and disease, promotion of mental and physical health of the population on the national, international, state and municipal level. This course is focused at developing public health administrators with professions in related fields of community health including their control and prevention, disease characteristics, forecast strategic disease prevention policies, regulatory affairs and quality assurance. The main aim of this course is to emphasize on avoiding measures that pose a fear to public health than treatment that has become a focal point in the present global scenario.
Candidates should have a B.D.S, M.B.B.S or equivalent degree. Few reputed colleges, schools and universities will conduct entrance exams for admission.
